Meetings

Everyone is welcome to our meetings. The club holds general meetings every first and third Thursday of the month when school is in session. Meetings are also held the first Thursday of the school year, but never during dead week or finals week. The meetings start at 7:30pm, and are usually held in Building 20 (Electrical Engineering/Engineering East), room 129. A close-up map of the building:

Parking

Parking is a real hassle now that the H-2 parking lot (near the library) is closed. If you want to park on campus, a good suggestion is to buy a parking pass ($4 at the entrance) and park in the parking structure, or in the H-12 or H-16 lots next to the Sports Complex. There are also metered parking spots in front of the Library, but the meters have a maximum time limit of 45 minutes. Metered parking is (limited) available around Graphic Arts, Buliding 26, with a max time of 90 minutes.

For alternatives to driving, try carpooling. Many club members live locally and can give you a ride. Coordinate on the repeater. Taking the bus is also a great option for getting to the meeting, but bus routes shut down before the end of the meeting, so getting home requires a ride from somebody. The 6a and 6b run until about 8:30pm; more information can be found in the bus schedule[PDF].

We also have an informal BBQ every Tuesday night at the shack before the ARES net. Everyone is welcome, and bring something to put on the grill. The grill is hot from about 7pm until 8pm. If you know you are going to be late, give us a call on the radio and we will keep the grill hot for you. Sodas are provided free.
