Vice-President, Dean Wood (Wood what?) 1. GOPHER section of WWW page updated by Dean -Give him any advice on how to update the page, be more creative C. Treasurer, Tamra Ann Minturn I 1. Bought $1,600 worth of Tass equipment ***HER LEDGER WAS TAKEN FROM THE CASH DRAWER. WE NEED IT RETURNED ASAP!** D. Station Manager, Craig Gullickson -Set up new tubes for amps -Looking to do more contesting (surprise, surprise!) -CW contest coming up -NEW EQUIPMENT? -gross headset; can we get headphones? -Need to price headsets, see how much it would cost to get one before the contest -Kirk: buy communications headsets instead of commercial -Kirk moves to allocate NO MORE than $130 to purchase headsets (Heil brand) -Dean & Tami seconded -Kirk withdraws his motion while Craig brings up ANOTHER issue: -contests go between 36-48 hours each -voice digital box to "save the voices" of HF'ers -$300 + retail -$265 for a Craig deal -can use it for a variety of things...many contests coming up -We could use it forever and make the $ worthwhile -Barry makes a motion to allocate $265 for a voice digital box -Jonathan seconds -Len makes a an amendment to include the headset motion (allocating $130 for headset) with the Voice Digital Box motion (Allocating $265 for VDB) together for a total of $395. -Barry seconded -Tami moves to close discussion -----VOTE----- -6 voted for -2 voted against -5 abstained ****MOTION PASSES**** -Craig will be purchasing equipment ASAP F. Repeater Manager -Time on the repeater is accurate -codes changed -members need new codes -Rick: Can we change ONLY important codes (ie autopatch?) -Dean: obscure codes (ie turning the 2m on and off) have been the same for YEARS; need to be changed -Needed to make "answering reverse patch" different from patch so that you don't activate reverse patch when you make a patch [make sense?] -Paul needs to tlk to Tass people to coordinate frequencies -Tami: can we make "extraneous" codes non-offensive? -Paul: they will be moved and/or changed eventually; not pressing right now G. Vending Report *LEn (TQL) substituting for Greg, KE6SXY Revenue since 10/19: $756.57 Totals since SXY took over: cost $1,823.81 revenue $ 2,744.52 profit $920.71 -Want to make a motion to replace Barq's with a non-root beer product (ie Squirt) -Trisha moves to HOLD OFF on discussion until we see a list of alternatives -Kirk seconds -Brodie suggests we put a case of Squirt in the machine and see how rapidly it sells -Trisha withdraws her motion (discussion held off WITHOUT voting!) H. Tass Project: Rick Gilligan -ordered controller; being shipped to his work -talked to building owner and seeing about fitting rack in the building -Picking up equipment from Brad this weekend *HOPING TO HAVE TASS UP BY DECEMBER -Brodie has a 440 m ht to loan for frequency coordination B. Jonathan Becker re: Offering a HAM class/test -Rick: we can put together a test (sans class) for the community -Need 3 general VE's to give a tech test -get paperwork done for VE's III. New Business A. Kirk: ARES sign-ups -Good way to get involved with emergency preparedness -Red binder in shack w/emergency information -a list on the bulletin board in the shack tells you how to subscribe to mailing lists on the SUN -ARES list a good way to keep up w/emergency info. -See or contact Kirk or Tami for more info. *Tues.
