Cal Poly Amateur Radio Club Meeting Minutes - 07 January 1999 by N6NL o Jim Spreng, Ranger, Monterey County Parks Dept., spoke about Wildflower Triathlons 98 (last May's event) and presented us with a commemorative plaque from the Parks Dept. and Tri-California. He spoke highly of our professionalism and commitment to course safety. Jim is working at the park in King City. An additional contact for this year's event will be Tom Sheppard. This year's event is Apr 30th, May 1st and 2nd. o John Rogers, KK6DJ, spoke about Wildflower 99. Follow the directions returned via email. o President's Report: IEEE branch has a junky old antique radio they'd like to sell. There's an estate sale on antique test equipment call 771-8566. o VP's Report: Yep. o Treasurer's Report: Brad, N6BDE donated $350.00. o Secretary: Nope. o Station Manager: Fence slats were installed by KE6OMS, KF6PKU and our flashlight bearer, KD6JTS. We want to buy brackets to store antennas on the wall in the shack. Our 80M wire antenna is broken. o Repeater Manager: See the web page for status. o Vending Manager: The coin mechanism has been jamming, either it's hosed or someone's trying to jam us. We should talk to Foundation about fixing it. At least it has been eating money, instead of giving free product. :-] o Council Rep: Engineer's Week is the third week of February. The Mistake Daily will have a special edition which we can get an article or picture in. OMS will be attending the Monday meetings so that Keet can take our licensing class. o Computer Manager: Dash is getting filled up. We got a donation of a 1GB SCSI drive from KC6WOW we will be installing. Sparc LINUX Red Hat may be installed on the new (to us) Sun workstation.. We may need a new KB for the DEC. It's flaking out worse than ever. The guy who took our old Sun 3 should come get the manuals ASAP. o ARES Rep: OF's dying off - YF please join.
