President - KE6MQQ Barely has pulse. We now have official approval to get through the "gate" on the Dexter Lawn side of the EE/CSC walkway. Combination available upon request. Also, Facilities is willing to pour the cement pad for the generator, but not at the same time as they pour the cement for the new elevator. *** Still trying to get a hold of Tim, KQ6XL, for help *** B. Vice President - KQ6ZQ Been breaking his campaign promise: he's been DOING stuff! Tower Party is still on for this weekend (to be discussed more in Old Business). Dean wants to donate cable for the tower. Dean ROCKS! C. Secretary - KF6UZI MIA D. Treasurer - KF6UZD Late; no info, left almost immediately for fencing (like he couldn't skip one night every two weeks...sheesh... ;-) E. F. Station Manager - KE6OMS We have official non-vehicle access to the shack. Tower party this weekend. Be there. G. Computer Manager - KF6DMI MIA H. Coke^H^H^H^HVending Manager - KQ6BX MIA I. ARES Rep - KF6UXN MIA II. Old Business A. Tower Party The plan: Remove cable, re-string, make it neat, and put it back up. Some new cables (for things we can actually get cable). We are having some minor problems with the bubble. We also need to fix the cable arms on the tower. Find the 80m antenna and put it up. We would also like to run conduit from the shack to the place where the generator pad will be poured--we need Tim for this! It was decided that the conduit would have to wait until we got more info from Tim. We also need to get the transformer hooked up so that we can use our own, isolated ground. IN RELATED NEWS: in order to be able to use the HF amp, we will need an additional 1:1 2kw transformer. The schedule: Friday night at 7pm: clean up a lot of the stuff in the shack. Probably a lot of the stuff will go outside, either into the cage or onto our "lawn." Saturday at 10am: the Party begins! Lunch will be provided (BBQables); direct requests to KQ6ZQ. Dinner will be done, but it will not be provided. If more work is necessary at the end of the work day, a meeting time on Sunday will be determined. Additional info: KD6CVS will be climbing the tower, but other experienced climbers are encouraged to show up and help with the climbing duties (especially if you're light!). B. Repeater Projects update - KE6OMS We want to put up a WALA machine on Tass and link it to Lompoc (rather than Williams). Use the RLC2 from Admin for this repeater. Put the RLC3 at Admin. This allows us to add a voting receiver and some other neat stuff. If we do this, we need a new Autopatch. KQ6ZQ makes a motion to approve $125 for a new autopatch, KE6UXC seconds; unanimous approval - KE6OMS in charge of getting it. Also, N6NL says that he thinks the UHF interference problem has been identified: the duplexers aren't quite good enough. So, perhaps we will be adding some more filtering. C. Satellite Project - WA3JPG There's apparently a satellite project that got dumped on Cal Poly. There was an unspecified request for radio people to get involved. Contact WA3JPG for more info or to help. Move to adjourn 8:29pm. Minutes kept by KF6UXC. Minutes entered by KE6OMS. end
