Fall 2021 Ham Cram

Come get your amateur radio license!
Saturday, October 23rd, 2021

On October 23rd, 2021, CPARC will be hosting its annual Ham Cram, where we intend to equip you with everything you need to know in order to pass your Technician license test!

The event will take place between 09:00 (9:00 AM) PDT and 16:00 (4:00 PM) PDT with an hour in the middle for lunch. We will cover each subelement of the license exam incrementally, helping you remember the necessary information that will help you pass. The focus of this is to get you your license so you can learn on the job! If you do not know anything about amateur radio or electronics, this is the perfect place for you!

The Fall 2021 Ham Cram will be held virtually over Zoom this year, due to the large number of people who often participate (all are welcome!), and will be recorded for anybody who cannot make it.

After the cram, around 16:00 (4:00) PDT, we will be hosting an online testing session for your to take the test also on Zoom. This is where you will get to apply everything you have just memorized, likely pass, and then forget all the information (which is fine because amateur radio is all about learning as you do it).

Alongside the Zoom link below, there is a link to register for the exam. We are not currently requiring sign-ups for the Ham Cram itself, but you will need to register if you plan on taking the test on October 23rd. Be sure to read the instructions for online testing and let us know if you have any questions! Feel free to email calpolyradioclub@gmail.com with any club-related questions or kshinwhe@calpoly.edu with any specific questions about CPARC testing and Ham Cram. We hope to see you there!
